Who am I

thumb Amanda professional June 2011I am Amanda Rogers, a Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Supervisor with an integrative approach which means I am trained in a various therapeutic modalities – Transpersonal; Person-Centred; Psychodynamic; to name but a few as well as CBT and NLP. I am also a Trainer; Facilitator and Business; Executive and Career coach.

My aims are to support others through a challenging period in their life; to facilitate others to bring about change for themselves in an area of their life.

The methods I choose to work with depends upon the type of client and the material with which they present. I see all individuals as unique, I find that one size doesn't fit all and I trust my intuition to find the necessary approach to meet a client's needs.

I work in way which considers the needs and concerns of each individual regardless of social class; age; gender; race; ethnic group; religion; sexual orientation or disability.

What I do – Psychotherapy; Bereavement counselling; Personal development workshops; Coaching – Career, Business and Executive; Facilitation; Training delivery and Training needs analysis.

I currently work as a psychotherapist in private practice; within the NHS and as a Bereavement Services Co-ordinator providing bereavement counselling and supervision at a Hospice. I have worked voluntarily for a Bereavement service; with addictions at a Turning Point day centre; and at a GP Surgery.

I am also a qualified Career: Business and Executive Coach and facilitator; working with individuals looking for a career change; Director's, CEO's and Trustee Boards in the private; public and voluntary sectors. A highly experienced soft skills and personal development trainer.

What I’ve done in the past - Before training as a psychotherapist I worked for over 20 years in the business sector as a project manager and more recently as a personal development trainer and Excutive, Business and Career coach.

The blend of these professional backgrounds helps me bring a pragmatic approach to what some view as analytical, esoteric theories. From my business background I bring into client work my strengths of interpersonal interaction and a desire to understand a situation and its impact; I draw from my experience working in time limited situations; providing focus and clarity; encouraging self determination and supporting an individuals' or organisations' identified outcomes.
